Camp Admission/Discounts/Refunds
Discounts available to campers must be publicized and applied during the registration period, where possible.
Team discounts refunded to high school coaches for distribution to their players following camp must be documented and itemized.
In those cases where key deposits are utilized, refunds must be "signed for" by each camper.
Pursuant to NCAA legislation, the following actions are PERMISSIBLE:
- Providing free or reduced admission to a group registering a specified number of participants, as long as the reduced admission is available to all such groups.
- Providing free or reduced admission to children of coaches or administrators who work in the camp, as long as the reduced admission is considered part of that individual's compensation and such an opportunity is available to all such children.
- Providing free or reduced admission to children of staff and faculty at Virginia Tech, as long as the reduced admission is provided to all such children.
- Providing free or reduced admission to participants who have not yet entered the ninth grade.
- Providing free or reduced admission to high-school, prep-school, or two-year-college athletics letter-winners, in the absence of an objective criteria such as the ones listed above. (For the purposes of this regulation, "high school" includes the ninth-grade level, regardless of whether or not the ninth grade is part of a junior high-school system.)
- Permitting a representative of Virginia Tech's athletics interests (booster) to pay a prospect's expenses to attend a camp/clinic.
